A couple of Sundays back I went for a bike ride with a group of friends in Johor, Malaysia. We rode from Pengerang to Sungei Rengit. We rode through small kampongs, past the homes, gardens and local makan places. No rush, no traffic, no hustle, no bustle.
Bought a new bike. It is a Giant Cross City hybrid bike. Basically a flat bar road bike. Recent bike riding experiences in Singapore and Malaysia convinced me it was time to purchase a new bike.

When it comes to computers, iPods, iPads and all that guff I, and seemingly many others, have been caught up in this unbelievable crazy black hole of needing to purchase the latest and greatest. What gives? What has happened? What has changed?
Listening to the old vinyl album and browsing through those YouTube clips of Iggy and The Stooges live in 2011 was uplifting. One generation passing the baton to the next.
