The photographs in this gallery were taken on the 12th May 2012 looking west towards Nebo from Figtree. I had the feeling given the cirrus clouds and the sunset that there mighty be iridescent clouds and luckily my prediction proved true.
About midday thin icy clouds began to float by the sun and an array of colours began to appear as the sunlight passed through the ice crystals.
Back in August as I was driving along my street towards my home I noticed that the clouds in the west looked icy as the sun was setting. As soon as I arrived home I grabbed my camera and began photographing the clouds as the sun sank behind the horizon. In winter is not that(…)
