I
returned to Singapore during the second week of July. I
conducted workshops based on Web
2.0 and Podcasting technologies.
The focus was upon education and curriculum integration
combined with hands-on activities. I spent the Sunday
morning in Bukit Batok where I had breakfast. After that
I took
a train
into
the city
and
picked up a copy of Premiere Elements as well as a CD
by Lynyrd Skynyrd for a friend, Evan. While I was in
the Funan Centre I took some photographs of a clock speed
competition for computer specialists. Some of the teams
were using dry-ice to keep the computers cool!
On the
Monday I conducted a session on Web
2.0 technologies
for educators from across Singapore. On Tuesday I facilitated
a podcasting workshop for
staff of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the
National Institute of Education
(NIE). That was followed by Web
2.0 and podcasting
workshops on the Wednesday and
Thursday for second language teaching curriculum experts
from the
Ministry of Education. I concluded the week with a Web
2.0 workshop for NTU and NIE staff. One night I attended
a meeting of individuals from
across Singapore that are interested in Web 2.0. That
was an interesting night.
The trip finished with a great dinner shared with Vivien
and Paul from the Centre for Educational Development
at NTU. I will be going back in October. Page 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
